ΣERAPHIM'S BLADEΣ
‘’Seraphim’s Blades’’ is a project created from the depths of my soul and my lingering for something more out of this world. I crafted three swords build to represent strength and fragility, the separation from good and evil. I used metal to craft the blade which is a powerful material and clay for the handle which for me represents fragility. I added crystals to two of them to represent my spiritual intensions, on one sword I have an angel hair quartz crystal and on the other milky quartz. I started my research on celestial beings, I was curious on why archangels are represented holding swords and why swords are so closely related to angels and spirituality. I discovered that Angels are armed with swords to fight the evil and withhold peace. In fact there is a specific sword called sword of the spirit which is described in the bible as a living and active weapon used to fight against sin and help us grow closer to God. I do not personally believe in sin nor God. Eventhough, I was raised as an Orthodox Christian in a very small Greek island, I am spiritual in my own way, I do however believe in higher beings of existence that guide us, some people call them guardian angels. I was always pressured into religion; my grandma was always taking me to Sunday church with her. However, when I grew up into having consciousness, I rejected all of it and immediately. Now, still rejecting Christianity as it is, I only appreciate small parts of it such as angels, heaven, saints and other stories with pure intensions. What fascinates me about Angels, Archangels, Seraphims, Cherubs and other beings is that they do not have gender. They unlike human beings are pure spirit. Angels according to Christianity are part of the universe world and each angel has its own individuality, character and will. My swords are also a symbolism for purity. They are crafted for angels; they can defeat evil spirits and demons any human possesses. They have no gender. They are products of hatred and anger, destined to fight just that.
